Industry boss talks about stick chicken layoffs: like to engage in political correctness

With the news of Bungie's layoffs, industry insiders have pointed the finger at the studio's excessive pursuit of political correctness.

Mark Kern, the former head of the World of Warcraft team, pointed out that Bungie's hiring focus on "diversity" rather than ability had led to a decline in the quality of Destiny 2's DLC. He said the studio's insult at feedback from players that they wanted it to "focus on the game" showed that its focus had shifted to politics rather than works.

The activism of Bungie's Twitter page also supports this view. The studio invests a lot of energy in diversity promotion, even attacking players with different opinions.

More ironically, LGBTQ activists were the first to speak out after the layoffs, accusing the dismissals of discrimination and betrayal.

Mr. Musk's recent view that layoffs can happen without activism and censorship applies to most AAA game studios, such as Bungie, according to Mr. Kern.
